QUEZON CITY – A year after the launch of Organic Garden campaign last 2016 and in further promoting the consumption of organic produce, Ayala Malls- TriNoma launched an Organic Garden at the 3rd level outdoor area as part of their ‘All Natural’ campaign this March. As part of TriNoma’s initiative to support the local community, the Organic Garden was launched through a mini-trade fair in the Cinema Lobby and talks from the different agencies under the Department of Agriculture, including the National Organic Agriculture Program.
The Program was invited to talk about the implementation of NOAP as well as other activities, campaigns and the benefits of organic agriculture.
The Bureau of Plant Industry was also invited to demonstrate urban farming to encourage the participants to go organic by growing their own produce in their backyards using recycled materials.
After the talks, the participants were invited to the 3rd level Outdoor Nursing Area to harvest some of the produce in the Organic Garden. BPI also distributed seeds to the participants after the demonstration of urban farming.
The launch served as another avenue to support Organic Agriculture and to raise awareness on the benefits of organic farming and consuming organic produce which is also the priority of the Program in terms of promotion and advocacy for this year.
